I am passionate about my work with individuals suffering with grief and loss. I have been touched personally by significant losses including the death of my father when I was a child and the unexpected death of my first husband after being married for just seven months. Some life experiences teach you more than what can ever be learned in the classroom. I consider it a privilege to be with you in this process. While no two experiences are the same I can relate in a very real way and be able to draw on experiences to help you manage your way through grief. I can hold your hope when you are left to pick up the pieces and create a life that you can live in without the one you love.

Loss and grief has an impact in our lives of which we often do not understand, but it is a common thread that links all of us together. Unfortunately our culture is one in which it doesn't like to acknowledge or talk about it and often denies it's effect. My goal would be to help you understand your journey, acknowledge its emotions, help you embrace it and pass through this difficult period in your life. Please remember grief and loss is NOT a thing to be fixed in you, it is a process we often need more understanding about in accepting and dealing with it today and in our future.

Grief is an experience in which many emotions come to the surface with little control. One moment may be happiness with a fond memory, quickly replaced by crushing sadness. Anger followed by joy about how others loved you in it. The sorrow is chronic. We never "get over" our loses, as others would have us do. We will explore those emotions in session. Having lost two children, you will definitely be felt and cared for.
