All of us may experience the death of a loved one, loss, or any form of grief. How one deals with a loss is uniquely their own. Undergoing grief counseling can help with the following: Learning to communicate – I can assist with opening up about the source of grief and discussing one’s thoughts and feelings. I can provide a more objective point of view for people who are grieving and help shed light on the situation by leading the conversation to a fruitful resolution.

Grief and loss is a part of so much more than many recognize in every day life. Most folks are familiar with the Kubler-Ross stages, but processing grief is much more than those five stages. There are tasks of mourning that can be explored and expanded with support in therapy. There are secondary losses as a result of an initial loss. Grief impacts how open we feel to new relationships in our lives. I work with clients to help them understand their responses to grief, move through their grief and feelings through expressive arts and verbal processing.

Life gives us many losses, either through death or change. Learning to process the meaning of the loss is essential to personal growth and balanced living. Sometimes you are grieving for the childhood you did not have or the parenting that you did not receive. Grief does not resolve itself and cannot be ignored. Working with a caring counselor makes the path less frightening and can guide you to the relief of letting go.

I am sincerely sorry you are suffering. When you lose someone, or something, important, it can be so very painful. I have a very high level of training in helping people with these sorts of pains.
