I often work with clients from a cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) perspective. This involves understanding how our brains process information differently when experiencing intense emotions, how to change troublesome thought patterns and modify how one responds to strong feelings - all with the aim of removing factors which may be maintaining the current emotional state. I also tend to consider the context of the rest of the client's life-situations (e.g., his/her relationships; school or work situations, etc.).
