Originally trained as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist I now use a variety of talk therapy techniques. People seeing me can definitely expect me to listen, to encourage them to tell me about themselves, especially how they came to be the way they are, how they want to be, think or feel differently. I do not prescribe or tell people what to do. Some of what I offer has an instructional feel as I do use imagery, cognitive or behavioral techniques. While I am a Christian pastor I am sensitive to people of all faiths, respect their traditions and DO NOT impose my faith upon them. I very rarely include prayer or mention scriptures to people and DO NOT consider any faith a "magic bullet".

I use a flexible model of psychotherapy which is designed to meet the needs of different patients with unique qualities and personality characteristics. I use a supportive approach and believe that the relationship between patient and therapist is the key to success. I often use reflective listening techniques to accurately understand the clients emotional state. I also use cogntive behavioral techneques to help clients develop effectgve coping skills in order to develop a sense of mastery of theiir problems.
