James Hillman once said, "We've had a hundred years of psychotherapy and the world is getting worse." While there are many occasions where the validation and listening endemic to psychotherapy makes sense, there are times where we over assume that "feeling better" and "changing behavior" are the same. Grey Matters International, Inc. goes after the forgotten brain laws to behavior change that therapists miss when processing hours and hours of dialogues with people. Utilizing a cutting edge technology to facilitate the emotional process of change, we can make the therapy process way more effective, faster, and with less money spent. People heal within a relationship that brings forth the experience of honesty, trust, positive regard, non judgement, and compassion. My approach to psychotherapy provides this experience. Clients benefit through a collaborative process that enables understanding and resolution of the emotional roadblocks in relationships with significant others, children and coworkers.

My holistic approach integrates mind, body and soul. I have experience helping people with long term issues, as well as short term transitional challenges. I look forward to assist you in starting to create the life you want.

All people have problems. When the problems are not the consequence of their own doing, such as resulting from abuse, neglect, or tragedy, I work to help these individuals muster their personal resources to better cope and learn recover from the trauma. However, most of the problems that people tend to have are the result of the poor choices they make. This is the frequent consequence of not really knowing who they are. My work as a psychotherapist is to help my clients become more aware of themselves. Lots of times it means facing some irrational and negative beliefs that get played out over and over. I work in a collaborative way that helps increase my clients knowledge of themselves.

Welcome to WalkinTalkinTherapy. Most therapy sessions are conducted outdoors while walking on the Pennypack Park, Core Creek Park or Neshaminy State Park hiking trails. The positive therapeutic value found in combining the outdoors and physical activity with talk therapy continues to be shown in new research and thus allows me another avenue in which to provide a unique experience for my clients.

Research has shown that an empathic, nonjudgmental relationship with a client is the most important element in successful therapy. My approach to psychotherapy has been strongly influenced by my experiences as a client in therapy. My career as a counselor has always involved a deep commitment to developing my knowledge and skills in a variety of therapies, while also being creative and innovative with each client. While in a session the client is always the focus of my attention, as we work together to find solutions to their problems. I avoid formality, interacting with the client candidly as an equal, typically relaxed, and even humorous at times, without compromising my professionalism.

Congratulations on taking the first daring and potentially wonderful steps into the world of healing through psychotherapy. My counseling practices are based on those techniques that are evidence based and proven to be effective from the clinical research literature. Specifically, I employ cognitive beahvioral therapy techniques (CBT) in helping my clients move past issues of anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. I strive to provide therapy in a very comfortable, safe, and judgement free environment.

Life can be messy. Our 24/7 world contributes to that. Beginning therapy, counseling, or personal coaching can be both empowering and challenging. Many put off getting help out of fear or a a hope that it will get better on it's own. I understand that ambivalence. Therapy can help you better manage a specific problem, challenge, or transition or help you finally address long standing issues that have interfered with your happiness and well-being. Do you feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or worried? Depleted or close to burnout? Feel trapped, angry, irritable or resentful? Therapy can help.

Clients will get a better understanding of how their current behaviors/relationships are influenced by their past family, school, work, and history. I provide a safe environment for clients to examine if and how they are going to change to better their lives and increase their level of happiness. I utilize a variety of treatment methods and give challenging "assignments" to help clients realize their full potential and practice skills taught in sessions. The trusting relationship I build with a client in therapy is my best therapeutic tool as clients can then safely explore topic "usually" uncomfortable in the outside world.
