For psychotherapy to be successful, first the client must have a commitment to the process and be motivated to change. Secondly, the therapist must have effective techniques and tools that can assist the client in achieving his/her goals and third, the client must experience a supportive relationship with the therapist. In fact, research shows that the compassionate presence of the psychotherapist affects positive outcomes in therapy to a greater degree than any specific technique or modality used. Pamela Welch has this type of gentle, heartfelt presence that creates a safe space for your healing transformation to occur while also providing powerful techniques that support lasting change.

Psychotherapy is essential to help you process the thoughts and concerns you have on a day to day basis. Many people have concerns that have never been dealt with over a long period of time. These concerns can eat at you internally and eventually disrupt normal functioning. Using psychotherapy you can work on an individual basis with us to better understand any concerns you have, and get the tools to work through them. We utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to help you change the way you think as well as psychodynamic therapy to learn about any concerns that have been bothering you in the past.
Ann Wilson, MA, MBA
I create and hold a non-judgmental, open atmosphere, and use a combination of present moment contact, curiosity, some explanations of theory, and invite you to explore your inner experience. I use a relational approach to help you go deeper into understanding issues and opportunities. The sessions are more than just talk; I use experiential approaches, including body awareness, and Gestalt experiments.
Casey Ryan, M.A.
Psychotherapy is a general term referring to therapeutic interaction or treatment contracted between a trained professional and a client, patient, family, couple or group. Its aim is to increase the individual’s sense of his/her own well-being, by learning from their habits, both positive and negative & growing from them in a positive and healthy manner. This can be accomplished through open, unbiased, conversations and exercises provided by a professional therapist.

I use an eclectic approach to treatment based on each client's unique needs and always begin by gathering a thorough history and discussing the client's treatment goals. My primary approaches to treatment include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Family Systems Theory. CBT is an evidenced-based approach and has been shown to be effective for depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and addictions. EMDR is an approach to specifically treat trauma.

Clients will benefit from psychotherapy with me because my number one tenet is that the client is the expert on their own life. With that in mind, I act as a guide for them in finding solutions for their issues or peace where none was before. Clients will find me easy to talk to, a good listener, and an insightful counselor. I believe in teaming up with clients so they know they are not alone in their issues.
Jennifer Maddox, LCSW, MASM
I work with individuals, couples and families to better understand the complexities of trauma and the effects on behavior, emotions and self worth. While there are many therapists who work with survivors of trauma there aren't as many who work with the partners and family members whose loved one has experienced trauma whether through war, a natural disaster or through domestic violence. Trauma affects everyone in the family whether or not they were present at the time the trauma occurred. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my client’s individual need in order to help attain the personal growth for with they strive.
Anthony Rivas, M.A.
Psychotherapy is an inherently sacred process, where individuals share, grow, and ultimately become more self-actualized. This process is collaborative in nature and is dependent upon trust. In psychotherapy, I utilize an integrative holistic approach, based in the humanistic and existential model. As each individual has a unique story and life experience, I work within this framework with the client to promote growth that can be felt and promote positive change. Through this process past, present, and future are all explored. Clients must be willing to focus on growth and exploring causations for their current issues in order to create positive change and growth.

I believe that the process of psychotherapy is an excellent means to better self understanding, expanding choices and finding more satisfying relationships. Putting feelings into words and becoming as authentic as possible leads to healthier communication, more caring relationships and greater satisfaction in all parts of our lives. A psychotherapeutic relationship and the process of engaging in therapy creates both compassion for others and self-understanding.
Bita Rivas, MA
Throughout life, there are many paths we take and each event in one's life is one which you learn and build from; allowing growth and awareness that adds to who you are as a person. My approach to psychotherapy is an eclectic approach which uses techniques from various different therapeutic modalities. Each person is different and each event experienced by people is uniquely internalized, there is no one size fits all therapy even for one person at different times in their life. Eclectic therapy allows me to utilize the most appropriate technique for each unique individual and his or her current struggles. Psychotherapy allows individuals to become empowered in their lives.
