My approach as a psychotherapist is that I look for strengths and solutions. My sessions are longer (2 hours) to give enough time to share what there is to get done and how it is affecting clients functioning, as well as to add some processes that calms the nervous system and change problematic patterns that are not beneficial, and end the session with some mindfulness relaxation to integrate our work.
