Additional subconscious processing with EMDR can facilitate cognitive narrative connections that allow for new, adaptive perspectives to emerge. In my psychotherapy approach, I assess possible past issues a client may need to re-visit. Some people have long-standing unresolved issues from their past, which need to be addressed in psychotherapy. Although an individual's past may certainly need to be examined, my main focus in psychotherapy is to improve the person's current situation and move toward a more positive future. Clients can potentially benefit from gaining better control of their lives by improving coping skills, having more positive relationships, and gaining confidence in their ability to be stronger emotionally, physically, and spiritually, I provide a safe and supportive environment in which to examine their lives.
