Other areas of interest in Fontana include the Civic Auditorium, which is a 1,000 seat auditorium and arts center.  The City of Fontana supports the auditorium with its strong belief that the arts play an important role in the well-rounded development of a community.  The city feels that the civic center is representative of civic pride in the city and has become a focal point for the creative activities of the citizens of Fontana and the Inland Empire.  The Mary Vagle Science and Nature Center also offers educational activities, such as reptile viewing areas, hands on programs and displays.1 There is also a self-guided hiking trail and afterschool program and summer camp programs.  There are individuals and community groups that volunteer helping to preserve and maintain the center.
