Boundaries: The Key To Self Care

Daniel Gowan, MDiv, MA, LCDC, LPC-S

Boundaries are a fundamental survival tool in our relationships and in our society.  They hold the key to self care and are necessary to have healthy relationships.

  • Learn the difference between protection and containment boundaries (and why most of us are stronger with one over the other)
  • How to set appropriate boundaries AND MAINTAIN THEM!
  • How to deal with steamrollers, snipers and the guilters in our relationships (you know the ones! they give you “that look” to let you know you shouldn’t be setting that boundary).
  • Learn how to effectively use natural consequences for boundary violations.
  • Find out where you really are allowed to set boundaries.
  • How to let go of the outcome (i.e.- their choice) when you set a boundary.
  • You will go home with a process you can practice and one that will immediately make your life better.
