Teens are getting into relationships often at a very early age. They can become completely infatuated with their boyfriend/girlfriend while ignoring their family and sometimes even their other friends. While it can appear harmless, parents need to be aware of warning signs that can indicate a potential serious problem. It is estimated that one in three teen/young adults will be involved at some point in an abusive relationship.

This presentation will address:

• Understand warning signs that a teen is in an abusive relationship

• The types of teen dating violence

• How family and friends can approach and talk to the individuals in the relationship

• Safety planning for teens and their families and friends

• Community resources
