Caregiver Support Group at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church

St. Mark’s is offering another  Caregiver Support Group for people providing care to someone with an illness.

Feedback from past participants:

“The group was accepting and non-judgmental. It reminded me that I am not alone, and the

need to take the opportunity to open up to others.”

“A wonderful comfort level was achieved among the group; a very gentle atmosphere.”

“I enjoyed all of the topics and how it was led.”

“Being able to share openly was helpful to me and I really appreciated the support and input I received from the others in the group.”

The purpose of this group is to:

·            Reduce isolation

·            Provide support

·            Discover resources

·            Explore topics that are relevant to caregivers

·            Share coping strategies together & learn new ones.

This 8 person group will meet for 1 ½ hours each week for 10 weeks at St. Mark’s (825 King St. W., Kitchener - located between Grand River Hospital and KCI) beginning mid-March.   The specific day & time will be determined based on group member needs.  This group is for all caregivers, regardless of religious background.
