El Toro, California is a quaint little town with attractions geared toward family enjoyment and entertainment. Within the area you will find the typical attractions such as cinemas and bowling alleys as is common in most towns. Although these locations provide a great opportunity for you and your family to bond, the city also has many unique local attractions great for children, teenagers, and adult family members. Color Me Mine (located on El Toro Road) is a fantastic attraction for families to enjoy the company of one another while relaxing and painting ceramics; furthermore, this site offers a place for perfect for your child’s next birthday regardless of age. In terms of recreational activities, the Limestone Canyon Regional Park is located on Santiago Canyon Road and proves to be a great place for families to bird watch, hike, bike or walk on the trails, as well as enjoy the scenery with featured city lookout areas. Elementary and Seranno Intermediate are two of the many academic options within the area.
Marriage and Couples Mental Health in El Toro
Quite often, military personnel who return from long periods of serving, find it very hard to adjust to their previous lives. Even though they maintain feelings of love and affection, sometimes they struggle to adjust to a new way of living, which is drastically different from life in military service.
While therapy and mental health facilities may assist with most issues, sometimes service men and women become more aggressive and hostile towards their own families, particularly their spouses. Divorces or separations are quite common; however, in extreme cases, these service men can become physically aggressive, which can quickly lead to domestic violence.
In a city like El Toro, where the risk of these incidences is particularly high due to the large presence of military personnel, a lot of care has been taken by Orange County to ensure that domestic violence is kept to a minimum and that many issues are resolved in couples therapy. The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy has a California division, which can refer you to a good physician who will provide couples therapy.1
Orange County Couples Counselling is another excellent organization located in Irvine, which caters to El Toro. They can be contacted at 249-285-5199 and they deal with issues such as relationship counselling and communication issues within couples.2
Family Services and Assistance Programs
Recently no new initiatives have been announced with regard to marriage counselling. However, the Governor of California, Jerry Brown, announced a budget worth $106 billion, which aims to develop mental health care facilities and education in the state of California. It is predicted that this new budget will bring about a change in the quality of life in Orange County, and the residents of El Toro will be able to take full advantage of it.3
