Located on the eastern seaboard of Florida in Broward County, Sunrise is a great little city with around 86,000 residents. While the city is smaller, it does host many different corporations such as United Healthcare, Hormel Foods, Air France, Fox Sports Television, Honeywell, and CIT Group, to name a few. Spinal cord injuries can be debilitating, and physical pain and mental health challenges associated with them can be difficult to deal with, as well. The Spinal Cord Injury Support Group of Broward County meets at 4399 Nob Hill Road on the first Tuesday of each month, in Sunrise. Meetings can include discussions of topics of interest, guest speakers, and, most importantly, a social atmosphere where those facing the challenges of this type of injury can meet and provide support to one another.²

Homelessness is a social problem, and it requires social solutions. The Broward Partnership is a community non-profit that provides a range of services and coordinates support for people experiencing homelessness, including those in the Sunrise area.
