Families have discovered that Long Island NY, with nearly 700 public schools, and several distinguished universities, such as the Long Island University and Hofstra University have a lot to offer up-and-coming young empire builders. And if a private school is something they're looking for, there are many private and parochial schools to choose from, such as Valley Stream Christian Academy, or Ebenezer Christian. Children of all ages, from pre-K to teenage can get solid, fulfilling educations. As everyone knows, though, education doesn't stop at school. Long Island Museum has an incredible display of horse-drawn carriages, some of which are more than 100 years old. This exhibition shows what carriages were really like---the variety and colors.1 It might have that car-crazy teenager re-thinking the whole thing.

Their Parent-Child Communication workshops help educate parents about how to talk to their children about drugs and alcohol. School-based programs seek to empower young people to resist peer pressure, make healthy decisions, and build resiliency among children whose families struggle with substance abuse.
