Dan is a compassionate, understanding, non-judgmental counsellor who provides insurance-friendly counselling for individuals, couples, families and children. He specializes in helping his clients to free themselves from their painful, traumatic pasts and to achieve personal balance and wellness as they create a fresh start in life.

He brings a wealth of experience from many years of practice in pastoral and clinical counselling.

Dan lived in East and West Africa (and briefly in Southern Africa). He speaks fluent Amharic (Ethiopian language). Over the course of his life's work, he has acquired deep insights into North American and African cultural outlooks. He is known as a skilled professional who is able, through interaction, to intuitively understand his clients' conditions and work with them towards the solutions they seek. Often, emotional and physical pain is resolved from the inside out. Dan has served the community in Toronto since 1996.

His speaking engagements on topics related to spiritual and emotional wholeness have taken Dan around North America as well as to Europe, Africa and Melbourne, Australia. He speaks on topics related to cross-cultural differences, marital conflict, anger management, depression, anxiety and other fear-based emotions. His training and experience have qualified him to support clients in overcoming the deep-seated effects of past trauma.

Over the years, many people from all walks of life, professions and nationalities have benefited from Dan's services in counselling and life coaching.

Dan is licensed by the Canadian College of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

Additional Training and Certification
He has certificates in Biofeedback and Neurofeedback for the treatment of anxiety, addiction, eating disorders and stress-related conditions. He is also trained in the use of DNMS (Developmental Needs Meeting Strategies) for overcoming trauma and depression; as well as Conflict Management and Negotiation.

Dan is a member of the Canadian Psychological Association, the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists and Alternative Dispute Resolution Ontario (ADRO).
