Current Initiatives

The Mental Health Connection of Tarrant County is leading a multi-agency initiative to reform the county's behavioral health system. Public and private organizations have joined forces to ensure that quality, affordable, culturally competent behavioral health care is delivered to all who require it. Streamlining the process of referrals will improve communication between agencies and make access to services easier for clients. Fostering the participation of family members in the mental health care of their loved ones is another primary goal of the initiative. Additionally, the initiative recognizes the need for knowledgeable and qualified health care workers, and as such, seeks to recruit talented people into the behavioral health care field.4
