Squamish, BC is located at the tip of Howe Sound in the province of British Columbia. In 1792 British Explorer Captain George Vancouver and his crew sailed into the bay that is now known as Darrell Bay, just south of Squamish.  This opened the door to the rugged adventurer in search of gold and fur.  It took almost another century (1889) before non-native families started to settle and farm the land.  Farming was soon replaced by forestry and today—tourism and outdoor recreation.  Fishing in Squamish provides access to all five Pacific varieties of salmon and is an angler’s paradise.   Diverse peoples including a vibrant first nations community make up the areas inhabitants.
