You've already lived through so much in your life. On the outside things may seem pretty good, but on the inside, things feel differently for you. The things that you thought you were managing well at one time, might feel like a runaway train just now, or maybe now that you have the things you've always wanted, you wonder if you want something else, need something else. You're on overdrive. It's time to slow things down a bit so you can breathe again.

While there may be people in your life who want to understand and support you, perhaps you're sensing that they really don't get it, or they’re too close to the issues for you to really open up to them. It's made your world feel complicated, maybe in some ways upside down. You feel like you have no where to turn.

Everyone struggles. Feeling like you want to finally close a painful chapter of your life, rediscover the parts of yourself you wonder if you've lost, or have a desire to become the best version of yourself, is more common than you realize. You probably have a pretty good idea of when you have gone as far as you can go on your own, which is why you’re reading this now. Sometimes we need to reach out for something more.

This leg of the journey begins now. Everyone needs a little help from the outside sometimes, and its OK that you’ve landed here.

In therapy we can look closely at what is happening for you, and safely explore how to move through pain. Through this process, you can learn to manage your experiences more effectively, have clearer communication with loved ones, and prioritize your needs. You can also learn skills to manage some of the more painful symptoms that can make everyday life tough to bear.

Whatever it is that you are struggling with counselling can help by breaking things down slowly so you can look at them more clearly, how to find patterns that you have fallen into that don't work for you any longer, and how to create and sustain healthier boundaries. Through counselling you can learn to free yourself from feelings of guilt and shame, to learn how to have a more compassionate view of yourself, and to sort through what is within your control, and what is outside of your control. Alternatively, counselling can help you learn how to sort through painful present experiences, learn how to cope, and create room to heal.

For over a decade I've assisted youth, and adults in learning to build the skills necessary to feel relevant and good in their own lives. Many of my clients have struggled with symptoms of trauma, depression, or anxiety, as they deal with painful issues including trauma, losses, unwelcome aspects of transitions, or overwhelming family issues.

In my approach I believe that when we feel distress or pain we feel it on all levels: mentally, emotionally, and very likely physically. Learning how to respond in a healthy way to your own needs is critical. My role is help you listen and then develop a plan to feel like you have some control back in your life.
I use interventions drawn from EMDR, CBT, insight driven therapies, and relational approaches. We all have room to grow. Call me. Don't go through this alone.
