Counselling
Life can be difficult - with compassion and empathy I help create a warm space that encourages healing and resilience. Counselling is about you and in therapy we create a relationship where you feel heard, understood, supported, respected, and valued. In this nurturing space we can safely explore your experiences, appreciate your uniqueness, and work to achieve your goals. Counselling is a journey where you and I work together to promote positive mental health, create desired change, and build healthy relationships. In counselling I help you learn skills to address and resolve your concerns, and pursue your goals. A successful counselling relationship is based on trust and confidentiality between us, and the counselling process is directed towards promoting your positive growth. I help empower you to make the changes you want to make in your life and reach your potential. Counselling is tailored to your needs - you are unique, and so is your therapy!

Assessment

Specializations
I am a certified clinical trauma professional and I help clients with a diverse range of issues such as: anxiety & depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, perfectionism, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, strained relationships, communication issues, low self-esteem, stress & burnout, domestic violence & abuse, trauma & PTSD, anger management, parent-child conflict, marital conflict, and grief & loss.

I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults.

 My therapeutic approach
Psychological wellness is achieved when you become a fully functional person who is capable of maintaining harmonious relationships with others. I use an integrative approach to counselling where interventions are tailored to your unique needs. As a Solution-Focused therapist, I trust that positive change occurs when you focus on solutions rather than problems. In counselling, we work together to help you find solutions to your problems. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is another approach I apply in my practice as I believe that thoughts affect emotions and behaviour. I help you challenge negative thoughts and behaviours in counselling and this may lead to insight, positive change, and new ways of thinking and living. I teach Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills to clients who struggle with distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and difficulties in interpersonal relationships.
