My goal is to help you regain a sense of purpose, alleviate your distressing feelings and ensure you feel heard. Deciding to seek support and share your story takes a lot of personal reflection and contemplation. Working from a holistic and collaborative approach, I look forward to learning more about what has brought you to explore therapy at this time. I firmly believe that all individuals possess the ability to solve their problems and grow from the challenges they experience. I want to work together with you to help clarify what your improved life might look like, and assist in making meaningful changes.
I come from a strengths-based perspective, enhanced by training in various modalities. While I am guided by cognitive behavioural, narrative and solution-focused approaches, I provide individualized treatment tailored to each client I have the privilege of working with.
I support individuals facing challenges and feeling stuck in the following areas:
- thoughts of self harm
- anxiety and panic
- self esteem
- perfectionism/all-or-nothing thinking
- relationship issues
- family issues
- academic concerns
- work-life balance
Outside of my private practice, I work as a Disability Counsellor at the University of Toronto's Accessibility Services. There, I support undergraduate and graduate students living with various conditions and disabilities including mental and chronic health issues, learning disabilities, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. I bring this experience and skill into my private work where I specialize in counselling individuals experiencing academic concerns. These include time management and organization, social communication and anxiety, test and evaluation anxiety, and managing symptoms of depression and other mood disorders.
As a registered social worker, my services may be covered under your insurance plan and I offer a sliding scale to those with limited incomes. My office is located two blocks from the College subway station. I am happy to provide you with minimal waiting times and evening and weekend appointment availability.
