I am a doctoral-level psychologist who is registered in British
Columbia (CPBC registration #1903) and the State of Washington. Currently, I am an Assistant Professor
at Trinity Western University in the MA in Counselling Psychology program. I am also the founder of Altus Psychological Services, a private practice in Langley, where I treat a variety of psychological conditions in a spiritually-sensitive context.
I completed my undergraduate education at the University of
Southern California and graduated with my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
(Psy.D.) from the APA-accredited doctoral program at Wheaton College Graduate
School in Wheaton, Illinois. I became a
psychologist after working for some years in corporate America, feeling the
need to do something more meaningful. I gained over 5000
supervised clinical training hours in a variety of treatment settings and, in
my post-doctoral year, developed more specialized experience in the area of
sexual health, including the treatment of sexual addiction. Between 2006 and 2008, I directed the Sexual
Health Program for Meier Clinic Foundation in Illinois. Prior to moving to Canada in 2009, I was the supervising psychologist of DuPage Community Clinic, an
innovative free healthcare clinic that is supported by a grassroots network
and serves the indigent uninsured of DuPage County, just west of Chicago. I moved to Canada to join the faculty of
Trinity Western University and the psychological team at Back in Motion Inc., a multidisciplinary rehab clinic in Surrey. You can find out more about my experience, research publications and media
appearances by viewing my curriculum vitae.
I am married and have two young children.
A former city dweller, I now enjoy the considerably more bucolic charms of
the Fraser Valley.
