My name is Amanda E. White, I am a licensed therapist specializing in working with young women with addiction, trauma, mental health disorders and their families. I see most of my clients for individual sessions, though I offer group therapy sessions and family sessions as well. I also work with parents of those struggling.

My approach to therapy is best described as compassionate, no-nonsense, get-out-of-your-own way therapy. I believe that every client is unique and my sessions are tailored to fit my client's issues and goals. My therapeutic approach includes evidenced-based treatment (DBT, ACT), mindfulness along with real conversation. Many of my clients describe my therapy as "therapy for cynics, or therapy for women who don't like therapy," because of my non-traditional and fresh approach.

As a person in long-term recovery, I know what it takes personally and professionally to maintain recovery from an addiction at a young age. Young women deal with and experience mental health issues and stress in a very distinct way. Often women are mis-diagnosed or misunderstood, and need a compassionate therapist who understands what she is going through. Through my warm yet no-nonsense approach, I will provide you with the insight, knowledge and support to get out of your own way and begin healing.

I have built my practice to connect with and empower women with addictions, mental health disorders and trauma who typically dislike traditional therapy.

In therapy, Amanda will empower YOU to:
- Find freedom from your anxiety or depression
- End the cycle of addiction and learn how to maintain recovery
- Get complete with your past, forgive others and yourself
- Learn powerful tools to communicate effectively with anyone, restore and strengthen your relationships
- Get out of your own way
- Create a meaningful and fulfilling life
My approach is unique because of my background and experience. I am personally in recovery from an addiction and eating disorder. Though I do not believe it is essential to work with a therapist in recovery, I was not able to make progress in treatment until I found someone who had been in my shoes. I understand what it is like to feel hopeless and lost and it is my privilege to walk back into the tunnel with you and guide you out and back into the light.
