I am a Clinical Psychologist, with many years of experience in assessment and treatment of psychological disorders and general mental health concerns. I serve the Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo and surrounding areas with my offices located in Guelph, Ontario. I worked for 7 years at Homewood Health Centre in Guelph, Ontario as the Psychologist within the Integrated Mood & Anxiety Program. This was an inpatient program specializing in treatment of anxiety and depression.

I provide training in Mindfulness Meditation which helps with Emotional Regulation and Reduces Stress. I am also able to provide you with treatment within a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy framework for Anxiety and Depression and EMDR for traumatic/difficult experiences. I have four associates who work with me who are extremely talented, kind, and professional therapists.

I provide individual therapy for adults age 18-99.

I do not provide couple or family counselling at this time.

I specialize in integrating neuroscience education with psychotherapy.

Clinical Psychologist

With degrees from York University and the University of Toronto Amy has worked in private practice, forensic, university as well as in hospital environments. For approximately 7 years she provided psychological assessment and treatment services, to individuals and groups, within the Integrated Mood & Anxiety Program at Homewood Health Centre in Guelph, Ontario. She was also a member of the Homewood Research Ethics Board and a founding member of Neuroscience Education & Research at Homewood (NERHo).

She is trained in providing Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive-Therapy, Emotion-Focussed Therapy, Solution-Focussed Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Structured Relapse Prevention (for addiction issues). She is the developer of Mind Training and is keenly interested neurally inspired therapies.

She developed and coined the term Mind Training and has a special interest in the intersection of neuroscience and mindfulness practices. She is a practitioner of Vipassana meditation for over 20 years, and has received training with various respected meditation teachers in Canada, United States, United Kingdom and Asia. Some of her past and current teachers include: Jack Kornfield, Sharon Salzberg, Thanissara, Kittisaro, Rebecca Bradshaw, Christine Feldman, Norman Feldman, Molly Swan, Bhante Bodhidhamma and Karme Wangchuk Dolma. She also received professional Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training with Jon Kabat-Zinn Ph.D. and Saki Santorelli, EDD (in 2001) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) training with Mark Lau, Ph.D. She has been teaching mindfulness meditation since 2001. She has a regular practice and sits retreats every year; from one week to two months in length. Amy has released her first CD: Mind Training with Amy.
