--- Dr. Angel Enrique Pacheco ---

I am a Clinical Psychologist specialized in behavior therapy and behavioral medicine, dedicated to helping people function and feel better by providing them with individual and family psychotherapy. I also work with persons of both sexes presenting sexual disorders, and with all couples in their interaction and intimacy problems. In addition, I have specialized in performing individualized clinical and educational assessments of children, youth, and adults.
Throughout my professional career as a specialist in human behavior and change with over three decades of professional clinical and administrative institutional experience, I have upheld the goal of enriching the care, enhancing the knowledge, and enlightening the minds of the people under my care, while advocating for them and helping to realize their maximum physical, psychosocial, and spiritual well-being. My goal is to continue developing professionally as I help others Learn to Live Better ®.
Professionally, I am a doctoral-level, Senior Humanistic Behavioral Clinical Psychologist from the Dominican Republic, a Canadian citizen, registered as psychologist in Ontario (authorized to work with Children, Adolescents, Adults, Seniors, Couples, Families, and Organizations), California, New Zealand, and the Dominican Republic, a CRHSP and NRHSP Health Service Psychologist, and registered with the U.S.A. National Provider Identifier. I am fully bilingual/bicultural(Spanish/English). My doctoral studies were conducted in the United States under the auspices of a Fulbright Fellowship and, independently, of a Fellowship from the Organization of American States.
Clinically, I have specialized in diagnostic assessment and brief behavioral intervention in family behavioral health psychology, working in primary care settings with complex emotional, psychological, and behavioral medicine disorders of individuals of all ages and groups of reference, with many social and medical problems, involvement with the judicial system, and addictions. My research interests follow my clinical areas of specialization. I am also experienced as consultant to individuals and organizations, and in community outreach, advocacy, education, organization, and services, as well as in providing consultation to professionals, supervisees, and institutions.
I am also well experienced in all aspects—routine and crisis intervention—of the administrative and service delivery processes in community mental health centers and hospitals. In my work as an administrator, I have held responsibilities for governance, access, transparency, and leadership transformation. I have developed expertise providing innovative professional leadership and supervision in working with multidisciplinary teams, line staff, graduate students, conducting research, and in establishing solid relationships and systems for collaboration and mutual referrals with community partners. Also, in creatively producing efficient and effective institutional solutions, as well as in the design and timely completion of inter-institutional grants, and community advocacy projects and plans.
My duties as an administrator have included strategic program planning, development, and direction, identifying market and grant opportunities for the program, assuring conformity with legal and ethical standards, budgeting, overseeing day-to-day operations, and quality control, quality assurance and program evaluation to maximize programmatic efficiency and effectiveness, all in keeping with institutional goals and objectives. Additionally, supporting learning and development, and encouraging, motivating, and supporting staff for critical thinking and educational advancements, as well as acting as a catalyst to help enable and empower them to realize their strengths and full potential in their scope of practice, with increasing functional autonomy, for the benefit of the program and the population served.
I am interested in working towards the creation of a better world through learning, effectiveness, and efficiency, by means of the application of the principles and techniques of learning theory in the administration, planning, and development of programs, supervision, direct clinical services, research, teaching, and mental health consultation.
I believe in the need to achieve relevant accomplishments that constitute solutions and that benefit in a significant manner the well-being of people, their families, and their communities. My goal is to continue developing professionally as I help others Learn to Live Better ®.
