Ashley Davis Bush, LICSW is a licensed psychotherapist in southern New Hampshire, specializing in couples therapy, grief counseling, EMDR therapy, and coping with anxiety, depression and stress.  She is the author of six self-help books: Hope and Healing for Grievers (in press), Self-care for Therapists (2015), 75 Habits for a Happy Marriage (2013),Shortcuts to Inner Peace (2011), Claim Your Inner Grown-up (2001) and Transcending Loss (1997). 

Albert Einstein wrote:  “There are two ways to live:  you can live as if nothing is a miracle, or you can live as if everything is a miracle.”  Ashley believes that all of life is miraculous, and that all life’s experiences have the potential to help us live more meaningfully. 

Ashley felt a calling early on in her life to help people live richer, deeper, more fulfilled lives.  Her work for the past 25 years –both as a therapist and as a writer – is designed to inspire others toward whole-hearted living.  Ashley shares her thoughts in her regular newsletter, StillWaters, her blog on The Huffington Post, and her grief support group "Transcending Loss" on Facebook" with over 25,000 followers.

Ashley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Smith College and a Masters in Social Work degree from Columbia University.  She has a certificate in Contemplative Studies through Smith College School for Social Work, has advanced training in Emotional Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT), and is trained in EMDR (eye movement and desensitization and reprocessing) for Trauma and PTSD.  Ashley worked in community mental health in New York City for ten years and has been living and working in southern New Hampshire since 1997. 

Ashley is a frequent public speaker and workshop teacher.  Since 1992, she has delivered keynote speeches to professional and community organizations across the country and has taught workshops on the subjects of grief and loss, relationships, parenting, personal empowerment, mindfulness, transitions, stress management and inner peace.

Ashley and her husband, Dan, have a blended family of five children and five pets.  She considers her relationship with her husband to be one of the greatest blessings in her life.

Ashley is also a classically trained soprano and regularly performs with local choral groups and community theatres.  She currently sings with Amare Cantare, an a cappella group.
