Therapy Style
Cathy provides a nonjudgmental and safe therapeutic environment for her clients and she values client-therapist alliance above anything else. Cathy has a direct yet empathetic therapy style, pushing her clients to be the best versions of themselves with utmost compassion and understanding of the constraints that may interfere. Her utmost goal of sessions is for her clients to leave sessions feeling supported and genuinely cared for.
Cathy was trained in IPCM (Integrative Problem Centered Metaframeworks), which is a theory formed at the Family Institute at Northwestern University by her professors, that integrate multiple therapy styles. IPCM is not one specific approach to therapy, rather it trains the therapist to use their judgment to personalize treatment that is personally tailored to each individual client. Cathy strongly believes that there is no one size fits all treatment to therapy and prides herself in getting to know each client individually and tailors her therapy approach to what will be most beneficial to the client.
Cathy is a full-time Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and the Practice Manager of Mindful Solutions, LLC. She received her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University where she obtained comprehensive clinical training at The Family Institute's Bette D. Harris Family and Child Clinic as well as in the Community Program working with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. She is a Post-Graduate Pre-Clinical Fellow member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Cathy was selected to be a Teaching Assistant for the renowned Marriage 101 class at Northwestern University. The class has been widely discussed and has received national recognition due to its relevance and popularity.
