Courtney has a strong belief that working towards wellness and self-understanding is a lifelong endeavour. Her aim is to provide you with a safe and non-judgemental space for you to discover what wellness means for you. Together, you and Courtney can explore the different facets of your world and make meaning of your life experiences. Through a holistic and collaborative approach, she will help you develop skills to manage individual challenges, deepen personal insight, and strengthen inner compassion on your journey of healing and self-exploration. Courtney will honour your brave decision to enter counselling and walk beside you with authenticity, respect, and empathy.
 
Courtney's education includes an Applied Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioural Psychology from St. Lawrence College, and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.
 
Courtney is an Emotion-Focused Therapist who utilizes an experiential and holistic approach to understand and provide insight on your emotional experiences and struggles. She prioritizes the needs of her clients and will sometimes incorporate tools from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Existential Therapy to meet clients whereever they are at. When working with families, Courtney uses a Family Systems approach to facilitate communication and understanding between family members. Additionally, Courtney is trained as a Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapist and practices Dr. Sue Johnson's Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples. 
 
Courtney offers counselling to children, youth, adults, couples and family systems. She has experience working with issues such as anxiety, depression, OCD, grief and loss, parenting, childhood abuse and trauma, life adjustment challenges, and relational conflicts. 
 
Courtney charges a flat fee of $120.00 per 50 minute session. This applies to couples as well as individuals. After session payment, Courtney provides a detailed bill with her registration number that can be submitted to the client's insurance company. If a client is struggling financially, a sliding scale is possible on a case by case basis.
