I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy, no matter what point they are at in their lives. In a world so riddled with negativity and doubt, therapy is a bright spot of positivity, assurance, and unbridled empathy. As a therapist, I enjoy helping my clients achieve everything they set out to conquer. Nothing makes me happier than the happiness of my clients!
In therapy, I will help you uncover the blockages that have stopped you from being able to live your life to the fullest. I work with individuals and couples to get past the things that are holding you back, and to unleash your full potential!
I use a multidisciplinary approach to provide my clients with creative perspectives on difficult issues. I always try to make coming to therapy as easy of a transition as possible. That is not to say that there won't be moments of struggle- bettering oneself can be hard as some difficult changes may be necessary. But the work you put in makes the outcome more meaningful (not to mention long-lasting).
No one is perfect or without fault, and in my couples work I aim to help clients see their partners for the well rounded person that they are rather than letting them focus on the other persons short-comings. Getting each person to recognize all aspects of the other helps put everyone on equal ground, and that is when we can start working on making their relationship the best it can be.
My road to becoming a therapist began at Temple University, where I graduated with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Cognitive Neuroscience. While at Temple, I worked at the Tuttleman Counseling Center as a peer counselor trained in conflict resolution and Transformative Mediation. I went on to study at Thomas Jefferson University's Couple and Family Therapy program with a specialization in Sex Therapy. While there, I interned at the Council for Relationships at both the University City and Institute for Sex Therapy offices while earning my Master's Degree.
Upon graduating, I went into private practice at Philadelphia MFT. Our practice is client-based, meaning the therapists work with what the client brings into the session. Clients are encouraged to outline goals, and together we work towards achieving them. This approach benefits my clients because we are always working towards their desired outcome, and finding creative ways to get there.
