Relationships Are Not Always Easy
If you are struggling in your relationship, I want to help.  I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (MFC # 87261) and I work with couples on all issues facing couples.  Whether you are going through an acute crisis, feeling disconnected, or facing angry exchanges with your partner on a regular basis, let's talk.  Before you even contemplate separating of getting divorced, let's see if there's a way to repair the damage and reignite the feelings you used to have.  A lot of marriages fall apart not because of the big things, like affairs and other betrayals, they fall apart because of the little things.  Often, small feelings of resentment build up over time and before you know it, the specialness you once felt in the marriage has gone away.  I'd like to help you work toward getting that back.  As you can tell from what I've said above, my practice focuses on couples.  Whether you're married, living together, dating, or just friend with benefits -- if you have issues with each other, I want to help.  I work with both partners together, or separately depending on the situation.  I work with straight couples, as well as LGBT couples.
Who Am I?
As for my background, I've had much real-life experience before becoming a therapist.  I grew up in New York City and loved living in Greenwich Village during my youth.  Moving to Santa Cruz, California while in high school, the contrast between the two places was pretty dramatic.  As I adjusted to living in California I decided I wanted to work in the television industry.  I moved to Los Angeles after college and began working in television production.  My career started as a production assistant on situation comedies and variety shows.  I also spent a good portion of my career writing animated programs for television.  If you ever watched cartoons of Alvin and the Chipmunks, the Addams Family, Heathcliff, Duck Tails, Super Mario Brothers, as well as a bunch of others, you've probably seen my work.  After writing cartoons for over 10 years, I helped start a company that produced television commercials.  After doing that for a number of years, I decided that it was time to move into something new, and I went back to school to become a therapist.
Why Me?
I became a therapist to help people.  I have spent a lifetime examining relationships and trying to figure out the differences between one that clicks, and one that struggles.  It is this continuing exploration that I bring with me to my sessions.  I want to help you get back in touch with what it was that first brought you and your partner together.  I offer a free 30 minute consultation to make sure we are comfortable working with each other.  There's no obligation and I very much look forward to meeting you.
