I earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto in 2009, as well as an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Criminology. I am a Registered Social Worker, and have provided counselling and support services to individuals, families, and youth for the past ten years in a variety of roles.
Therapeutic Style & Specializations:
Beginning from a client-centered foundation, I use trauma-informed, attachment and mindfulness-based frameworks in my practice. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities including Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy to suit individual needs.
I provide a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment that enables individuals to address a variety of challenges, including: depression and anxiety, addiction and problematic behaviours, trauma, childhood abuse, emotional pain, and those who are feeling stuck, or looking for more meaningful and healthy relationships.
I am passionate about supporting people on their journey to improved wellness and health. I believe that people thrive, grow and heal in the context of their relationships with others and as such, strive to provide a therapeutic environment which allows my clients to feel respected, and have a safe space in which to share their thoughts, feelings and experiences. I will work with you to collaboratively set goals for counselling, and to assist you in determining what steps you want to take to work towards the goals you have set.
