Are you experiencing low self-worth, stress, grief/loss, relationship difficulties, depression and/or anxiety? You've already taken a large and courageous step in the process of healing by reaching out to get support; I would be honoured to work with you. My hope is that you'll be able to achieve your goals while introducing more compassion into your life. I work with adult and youth clients of all genders. I also specialize in working with adults who've experienced childhood sexual abuse and adults and youth who have been recently or historically sexually assaulted.

I completed my Master of Counselling degree from Gonzaga University. I am currently registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. My work history and schooling have helped me develop as a person-centered counsellor who enjoys using compassion and mindfulness in session. I believe that we all have an inner wisdom that sometimes needs support and inquiry to come to the surface. I use the counselling relationship as a tool to help you work towards your healing. Research shows that a key factor in the healing process is having a strong counselling relationship.  I take time to check in with your needs, build safety and develop a relationship of trust.  It's important to me that you have a safe space to talk about very vulnerable and personal things.  I encourage my client's to provide feedback from the very beginning of our work, since it's important you get what you're needing.  Key treatment approaches I use include emotion-focused, person-centered, narrative, EMDR, trauma-informed and cognitive behavioral therapies.  I tailor my approach to each person, since everyone needs something unique.

My work has given me the opportunities to work with individuals, couples, groups and youth, using evidenced based treatment modalities and approaches. My clients have come with a variety of presenting problems including PTSD, depression, anxiety, suicidality, stress, work-related issues, relationship concerns and self-harm. I also see clients who are unsure what they are looking for, since this is something we can explore together.  I use psychoeducation, grounding and containment techniques to provide clients with a framework of their symptoms, as well as attempt to create safety and stabilization. These skills, along with my ability to see the client through various lenses (i.e. body, spiritual, mind) help develop a strong treatment plan for my clients.

My office is located in downtown Calgary, a few blocks from the train station on 7 avenue.  I offer daytime and evening appointments.

I look forward to connecting with you and joining you in building long-lasting change in your healing journey. You can contact me for a free 15 minute consultation. In this phone consultation, I'm happy to answer questions you have about my work or the counselling process in general.  The phone consultation is a helpful way to connect with potential therapists and assess if they may be a fit for you.  For more information, please visit my website: www.alignment.me or my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/alignment.me/
