Dr. Ian Mogilevsky View Specialties

From a Christian Worldview, Dr. Ian and his associates look forward to assisting you. For the past 16 years, we have had the privilege of providing a Christian approach with adults, children, couples, and families. Striving to be directed by God every step of the way, we conduct our approach in a caring and compassion way.
Dr. Ian graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2000 with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and was fully registered as a clinical psychologist in 2002 with the Psychological Association of Manitoba.
Dr. Ian has been married for over 25 years and has 8 children (ages-3, 7, 10, 12, 15, 18, 20, & 23 years of age). Personally, Dr. Ian gave his life to Christ in 1987 and since then has held firmly to a Christian Worldview. Because Dr. Ian is a registered psychologist, services may be covered (in full or part) by your private employee’s health benefits insurance.
My Approach
My approach to help people is shaped by my Christian Worldview. It is important to know that the work we do together will be influenced by both your personal beliefs and values, and mine. You do not need to share my beliefs and values to receive help from me, but you have a right to know what they are and that they inform my approach. Christianity teaches that we are created for God and to be in relationship with Him and with one another. But because of the brokenness of our world, our longings for relationship are often frustrated, resulting in various problems. In addition, there are often historical, biological, cultural, psychosocial, personal and emotional factors that contribute to spiritual/psychological/physical problems. Building from the foundation of a Christian Worldview, my approach involves exploring your personal history and current circumstances to identify feelings, thoughts, behaviors, assumptions, and relational patterns that may be contributing to your current difficulties. I then attempt to be an instrument of Christ through which the Holy Spirit can work. Through personal prayer, Bible Study, and a deliberate daily commitment to Christ, I yield to Christ and make myself available as an instrument through which the Holy Spirit may work to comfort, teach, guide, or heal those who are seeking help. Dr. Ian's approach is eclectic, which can include theories and practices from Interpersonal Neurobiology, Experiential Process, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies all within a Christian Worldview.
Populations Served
Individual, couple, or family therapy is tailored specific to everyone. Our hope is that you will perceive us as fully present during your session, as fully attuned with you (that you would "feel felt"), and as fully resonant (i.e., feeling of compassionate concern, genuine interest, and engagement) with your thoughts and feelings. As we work together, you may feel free at any point to mention your beliefs and values, as well as ask for clarification about my beliefs and assumptions. Honest and transparent collaboration with trust and goodwill lead to the best outcomes.
