I am a certified School Psychologist in Colorado who has worked in the field since 2009. I am also a Registered Psychotherapist in Colorado and a Board Certified Cognitive Specialist (BCCS). As a BCCS, I have extensive training and experience in assessing cognitive skills. My experience does not stop there, applying my training to other areas to fully understand the whole individual. I am also a Certified Autism Specialist (CAS), which demonstrates my training and continued professional development in assessing for Autism as well as working in ABA based therapy with individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Attending college in New Jersey, I earned my BA in Psychology from Rutgers University - Camden. While working on my Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree from Rider University, I worked as an educational aide for children on the Autism Spectrum and was a substitute teacher in a variety of classrooms serving students receiving special education. I have worked in schools in New Jersey and Colorado. I also have experience providing in-home and community ABA-based support for children on the Autism Spectrum.

My main mission is to understand how children and adults learn, connecting the dots across multiple data points. This may be through assessment, direct intervention and support, review of information available, professional development, collaboration or advocacy.

I work with individuals as young as infants to determine if there are any developmental delays and refer for early intervention services if needed. Toddlers and preschoolers may be evaluated to determine if a referral for special education may be warranted, or for early access for gifted 4 and 5 year olds. Students in elementary, middle, or high school may benefit from an evaluation for special education, gifted education, Section 504 accommodations, or for general understanding of abilities. Entrance into specific private schools may also require an evaluation which I can complete. Adults in college or the workforce may require updated evaluations to diagnose a possible learning disability for accommodations. I work with individuals who might be experiencing dyslexia or other learning disabilities, Autism, ADHD, or behavior concerns. All evaluations are individualized to the reason for the assessment.

Children sometimes benefit from short term counseling/psychotherapy. Using a combination of play-based, Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, and other methods as needed, I work with children ages 4 to 16 who might be exhibiting anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation or self-harm, or children who might benefit from developing a growth mindset or improving social skills.

My fees are based on a flat rate. Counseling/psychotherapy sessions are $75 per session. Evaluations are a flat rate based on the type of evaluation. I split longer, more comprehensive evaluations into smaller sessions. I do not charge extra for additional evaluation sessions when the evaluation takes longer than anticipated or when additional assessments are determined to be warranted. I offer free initial consultations and payment plans for evaluations.

If you have difficulty traveling to Aurora, I can travel to you at no additional cost. I utilize study rooms of your local public library to conduct evaluations.

I periodically update Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background reports. Most recently, these were updated in June, 2019.
