I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker in good standing with my respective college.  I divide my work between two private practices, one in Mississauga, and one in Toronto.
I support families, children, adolescents, and adults in their healing journey’s through the use of both evidence-based, and evidence-informed practices. I am dedicated to creating a safe therapeutic relationship that honours, respects and gives voice to painful experiences. I believe everyone has the ability to heal and discover that even one's vulnerabilities often unveil innate personal strength and resilience.
My therapeutic approach is holistic and directed by the needs of the clients I support. I utilize EMDR, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Sandtray and Play Therapy modalities. I work with a broad range of issues including developmental trauma/complex trauma, post traumatic stress, traumatic grief, parenting, self-esteem, body-image, shame, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and challenging family or life circumstances.

My clients have been my greatest teachers. Over the past 17 years, I have come to realize that there is no magical therapeutic intervention that addresses every concern or challenge. Important perspectives that influence my work include the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Sandtray therapy. For more information regarding the above noted frameworks and therapeutic interventions, please visit my website at: https://www.helenvozinidis.com
Prior to entering private practice, I worked at Boost Child and Youth Advocacy Centre.  At one point in time, I managed the Assessment Directed Therapy Program at Boost, and managed a small yet dedicated group of therapists supporting children, youth and families, who experienced trauma (sexual abuse, physical abuse, exposure to domestic violence, and neglect).
I am also a firm believer in the importance of ensuring my on-going professional growth and development.  I am currently enrolled in an eight month Internal Family Systems Therapy training in New York. I am also in the process of working towards my certification in EMDR.  Notably, I am certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), following a year long, on-line training facilitated by Dr. Bruce Perry.  In order to maintain my certification, I continue to be part of the NMT community and participate in monthly webinars through the Child Trauma Academy.
Making the decision to begin therapy can often be accompanied with feelings of fear, worry, apprehension and uncertainty.  It is important to me that clients feel supported and safe throughout the entire course of therapy, the pace of which is determined by you.  If you have questions, are uncertain whether or not engaging in a therapeutic working relationship will be beneficial to yourself, or your children, please feel free to contact me to schedule a free telephone consultation.  There are no expectations following the phone consultation process.  The more informed you are about the process, your rights, and what to expect, the more informed you will be regarding your decision.
