Imagine what it would be like to become unstuck. Who would you become if feelings of depression no longer got in your way? What would you do if you were able to stop giving in to anxious thoughts? Becoming a new you can be challenging, and I'm here to help guide your way.

I focus on making therapy a practical, down-to-earth experience, with some fun along the way. My goal is to make sure you leave every session feeling like you are taking steps to achieve your goals. If you would like to learn more, please feel free to call or email at any time.

About Me

I began reading at a young age and have always been fascinated with learning about people and getting to know their stories. It seemed only natural that I would become a therapist and use my love of getting to know people to help improve lives.

As an Eagle Scout, I have a fondness for adventure and enjoy taking trips for hiking and kayaking. I am also a fan of trying out new activities, and have taken classes in some fun but impractical hobbies such as sword-fighting and archery. On a whim, I took the improv courses at Second City and have found the training to be very useful in developing new ways to make therapy a creative, flexible, and bold process.

When at home, I can sometimes be found watching old episodes of The Simpsons and reminiscing about the good ol' days of the show. Video games have been a long time hobby of mine as well, primarily due to my fondness for immersive stories. Recently, I have also started to develop a small board game collection and enjoy having friends get together for game nights. Whenever I have company over, I am always quick to offer a cup of tea after developing a fondness for trying new blends.

Education and Training

I attended Bradley University for my undergrad, where I double majored in psychology and sociology and double minored in philosophy and religious studies. While in school, I provided in-home behavioral services to children with autism and interned at an inpatient treatment facility for women with addictions. After graduating, I worked at a community mental health center for a few years providing outpatient care for individuals with severe mental illness.

As rewarding as my job was, I felt the best way I could help others would be to gain additional education and training. To accomplish this, I attended The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and graduated with my doctorate in 2015. During my time at The Chicago School, I trained at a nursing home, a technical college, and a private practice. I completed my internship with Linden Oaks Hospital providing individual and group therapy for individuals seeking short-term treatment options. My post-doctoral fellowship was at a private practice in Chicago, where I received additional training in practice management, including working with insurance companies.
