 ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in the Grey Bruce area and have been working in this community for most of my adult life. In being a social worker, much of my days are spent on supporting others in working through their thoughts, feelings and behaviours to try and both understand themselves and reach their goals. I cultivate a warm, funny and light-hearted approach to my counseling, setting the stage for us to be able to work towards the difficult goals without feeling overwhelmed by them. I hope to be able to continue to do this in my private practice and invite you to connect with me to see if my style of therapy is the right fit for you. I’m always excited and inspired by my clients in their thoughtfulness and commitment to the change process, and you’ll find I’m an enthusiastic partner in my working relationships, happy to be flexible with my methods to suit your unique personality.

I graduated with honours with a Bachelors and a Masters in Social Work through King's University College at the University of Western Ontario, and I've been employed for over a decade in my home town offering direct therapy to the community. I am committed to learning and have sought additional training in many different approachs to counseling, like family, couple's and trauma therapy. I have completed my  Basic Training Certificate in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) as well as additional training in Memory Reconsolidation (Flash Technique), and I've seen amazing results related to trauma, PTSD and anxiety with these amazing interventions. I’m eager to help you reach your own goals; related to stress, anxiety, depression, or any number of concerns. I’m here to help. I have training in CBT and many other modalities, but I consider myself a humanistic counselor: meaning I work with whatever methods suit YOU.
