Utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mr. Honsowetz applies evidence-based treatments to assist clients with their individual goals. CBT is based on the theory that our thoughts influence our emotions which also influence our behaviors. These three factors influence each other, and problems can develop in any one of these areas, or all three of them. DBT is based upon CBT and uses a variety of the same assumptions, principles, and techniques but also adds other components often necessary to elicit change or acceptance in these three areas. DBT is a skills-based treatment and assumes everyone is doing the best they can but can also do better and try harder.
With 10 years of experience in the field, Mr. Honsowetz has begun to move away from accepting insurance to providing services on an out of pocket or cash basis. Payment is required prior to engaging in treatment and various plans are available based upon treatment need, cost, and investment in time.
