I work with Individuals and Couples, and I am a Gay Affirmative Therapist and have received Gay Affirmative training that has afforded me the opportunity to provide a special range of psychological knowledge, which challenges the traditional view, that homosexual desire and fixed homosexual orientations are pathological. I provide a healing affirmative stance in therapy to assist my clients with specific issues they may deal with.
My specialty is Sex Therapy, identifying and working with sexual dysfunctions. When sexual functioning is a problem, it can affect how we feel about ourselves, our relationships and our lives. Why not put vitality and intimacy back into your life, by reclaiming a satisfying consensual sex life?
I use a holistic model approach when working with clients to help them look at and consider all the components that can affect our sexual health, as well as, our emotional health. For example, relationships, love chemistry, communication, intimacy, sexual response, spirituality & religion, family and culture to name a few.
It is my passion for people and relationships that led me to this profession. I received my Masters of Science in Counseling, from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2013.
I received my Bachelor of Science in General Administration, from the University of Nebraska at Omaha concentrating in Marketing, Communications and Psychology.
Additionally, I am a fully certified Stott Pilates Instructor. Stott Pilates is a contemporary version of the Pilates method of physical exercise. The method focuses on the following five basic principles, with an awareness of stabilization of the pelvis and engagement of the deep pelvic floor muscles for women:
- Pelvic Placement
- Rib Cage Placement
- Scapular Movement
- Head and Cervical Spine Placement
It was through my Pilates training that I learned the importance of strengthening the pelvic floor muscles for women who are experiencing sexual dysfunctions. This work and experiences, ultimately led me to my specialization of sex therapy.
