Counseling is much more than just sitting down and talking about your problems and hoping the counselor will fix it.
I believe counseling is about actively listening to your hurt and pain and helping you navigate through your struggle without judging. Counseling should help you feel safe and valued as a person.
I view my counseling practice as a ministry by helping people find hope and healing in God.
If you come to see me I think you will find that I am friendly and easy to talk to. I will never make you feel pressured to talk when you're not ready, I will allow you to go at your own pace.
I have been counseling since 2006 and I have seen children, teens and adults for a variety of reasons such as depression, anxiety, divorce issues, family conflict, trichotillomania, and ADHD to name few.
I graduated from Lindenwood University with a Master's in Professional Counseling and I attended Covenant Seminary for a number of years studying theology. I'm also licensed in the state of Missouri as a professional counselor.
When you feel ready I would like to speak with you about the possibility of coming to see me for the first time. After your first visit you can decide if you want to come back. I understand how important it is to find the right counselor.
I also offer online video and chat counseling.
You can also find me at www.johncordray.com. I write about Emotionally Healthy Living on topics such as anxiety, depression, anger, relationships, and private practice tips.
Here is a video from The Calm Files that I produce on my YouTube channel.
Hope to see you soon,
