Hi. This is Jon Dodds. I help individuals deal successfully with stressful life events.  For the past 20 years I have been a counselor, spiritual guide, and fellow traveler on this journey. I know sometimes it can be a lonely road and I do not want you to go it alone.

Stressful life events can cause psychological injuries resulting in depression, anxiety, even bi-polar type behavior. Psychological injury is the single largest cause of depression. People are 14 times more likely to develop depression in the month after a stressful life event.

Psychotherapy is the optimal way to deal with psychological injuries. Talking to someone is a safe non-judgmental environment is the single best way to heal the effects of psychological injury caused by a stressful life event.

My approach consists of:

  • A conversations about what is going on and how it is affecting you.
  • Identifying and assessing current challenges and stressors.
  • Identifying skills and techniques that will help you deal with the stressful life event. 
  • Solving specific problems and creating a workable plan of attack.
  • Healing Interventions which can include: self care and support, learning how to express true feelings and leverage them appropriately, healing the mind of negativity and limiting beliefs, mitigating any ptsd and childhood trauma when applicable, dealing with fears and discomfort, identifying core values, establishing new goals, and gaining a clearer sense of purpose.
  • Experimentation—setting goals and role-playing new scenarios.

The process usually consists of 3-10 sessions depending on the nature of the stressful life event.
