My Invitation:
Life changes often challenge our ability to feel calm, confident or content.  It may be that parts of the Self have shut down due to wounding, trauma, pain, loss, anger, and aversions to suffering. Perhaps you wish to re-claim personal power and peace by discovering where and how you can be at choice in your life.  Maybe you hope to rediscover your spark of aliveness and joy – to become more of who you are.
Whether you are grieving a loss, celebrating a gain or perhaps struggling with fear, inertia or resistance, life transitions can be stressful. Located in Asheville, NC, I provide comprehensive holistic psychotherapy in person and online for individuals, couples, families and groups on a variety of life transition issues including:
  • Loss/Grief
  • Trauma
  • Relationships
  • Parenting
  • Divorce
  • Career
  • Aging
  • Spiritual growth
  • Sexual orientation
  • Relocation/acculturation

I am a: Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), licensed to work with residents of North Carolina and California; Certified Grief Recovery Specialist®; Registered Hatha Yoga Teacher and Employee Assistance Clinical Specialist.

My Approach:

Whether this is your first time in therapy or you are returning, please know that you will be sharing your story  with a caring, attentive but neutral person. You may experience some initial relief in so doing because you may have felt hesitant to worry, burden or express your thoughts and feelings with family or friends. Your story will better help me understand what you are experiencing to guide and inform our work together. An essential part of my work with you is undoing alone-ness – developing a relationship with you by engaging my gifts of presence, patience, perception, empathy, wisdom, warmth, humor and compassion – a portal through which you might contact your self-at-best

I trust that you have your own best answers.  Therefore, one of my goals in therapy is to mindfully help you unpack, remember or discover your inner wisdom to empower you to make life choices with a sense of clarity and purpose – strengthening your own knowing “muscle.”
You are likely to experience different kinds of emotional, physical and spiritual “weather” through our journey. So one hope I hold for you is that, by learning to increase the capacity to be with all of your feelings, you can experience greater resiliency and vitality in your life. I ask that you treat yourself with kindness and patience during our work by putting aside self-judgments and comparisons about your personal process. My contribution is providing warmth, presence, empathy, humor, education and an ongoing trust and confidence in your innate ability to learn, grow and heal.
