I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor with experience in counseling, education and behavior modification.  I received my BA in Psychology and MA in Mental Health Counseling at the University of South Florida.  I have additional training in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, counseling with the Military and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.

My counseling experience started in the 1980's as a lay counselor for a crisis hotline which encouraged me on my professional path.  Working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families in outpatient and residential agencies  has given me a good basis of experience for my private practice.

I believe everyone is capable of change and growth if they truly desire it and I enjoy working with people to empower them to reach their personal goals.  My view is, we are products of our experiences and thoughts, so I believe my own life challenges have given me insight on how to heal from marital problems, dysfunctional families, and many other situations.  I have been on both sides of the counseling relationship, so I know the hard work it takes to heal from emotional wounds.

I love variety and appreciate the differences in my clients.  Different personalities have different needs and I work with those I serve to develop a plan that best suits them.  I combine many evidence-based approaches and cutting edge techniques  to enable my clients to become the person they are designed to be.  As a Christian, I offer Biblical advice if desired, but do not push my faith on anyone.  I do not judge anyone, but meet them where they are and encourage them to see themselves as separate from their behaviors.

I am the eternal optimist and I see my glass as 1/10 full!  I believe that there is always hope for healing as long as we are alive and it is never too early or to late to improve our lives.
