Because I’ve been there. There was a time when I was full of unhappiness, insecurity and stress. My relationships were a constant struggle. I felt alone, didn’t believe I could get better or that anyone could help me.
So I recovered from a lot of pain, but what makes me think I can help you? Why do I believe that it’s possible for you to make things better for yourself?
Well, that was 25 years ago. I started to work on my painful past, I started reading blogs, books and the latest research on the devastating impact that past abuse, trauma and neglect can cause.
I worked so hard because I realized that it doesn’t go away on it’s own. In fact, untreated, it got worse.
I understand how negative experiences from the past can cause so many problems in our lives today.
But reading the latest research and the latest treatments wasn’t enough. I found I couldn’t overcome the abuse by myself. I needed the support of someone who really knew how to help me heal from trauma and abuse.
I committed to weekly therapy and started to sort through the pain and confusion.
I learned how to develop strong, healthy relationships. I learned how to stop being hard on myself. And I even learned to treat myself the same way I would a good friend!
With lots of hard work, the anxiety and depression lost power shrivelled up.
