Are there benefits to therapy?

Why would you want to put yourself and your story out there to someone you don't really know? Maybe you've tried many things to get yourself out of this place and fix what's bothering you, but nothing can really seem to stick or help. You wonder if you reach out for help if it will actually make a difference. You don't want to waste your time or money.
Therapy can offer many benefits:
  • Therapy can help you to gain self-confidence in who you are and in the decisions you make.
  • It can help you to gain connection and empathetic and understanding with your spouse.
  • It can help to support your teenager with healthy ways to deal with friends and stressful situations so they can respond in healthy (and not destructive) ways.
  • Therapy can give you tools to cope with difficult co-workers, family, in-laws, or friends.

I want you to get the most out of our time together, so in our first session we will discuss what your hopes are for our time together and that will set the stage for the rest of our meetings!

What does therapy look like?

I usually meet with clients once a week (or sometimes every other week) for 50-60 minutes. When we meet for the first time, I will learn more about you, what brings you into therapy, and what you hope to work on. Your hopes and goals for therapy is what will gauge what we work on for the following sessions. I also love feedback from my clients about what works and doesn't work for them.
My fees for therapy are:
Individual (adult or teen) & Couples session $60 per session
Family session $70 per session
I do not accept insurance, but I do provide a sliding scale based on need.
Reaching out for help is a big first step on your journey to a thriving life and relationships. If you're ready to get started then feel free to email or call me. I am happy to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.

What is my background and experience?

I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in private practice in the Louisville Kentucky area. I work with couples, individuals, teens, and families. I've been in the counseling field for about 3 years. I have a wide range of experience, especially working with couples, teens, and women. My clients have told me that they feel safe in therapy and they having a growing sense of confidence and relief since beginning therapy. Couples have also told me that they are fighting less, and when they do--it doesn't turn into a yelling match! They feel like they can emotionally connect again.
