Hi, I'm Laura. I am a clinical therapist offering confidential counseling services to adults, teens and families in Saint John, NB, using a discreet and empathetic approach. I am dedicated and passionate about helping you find renewed hope and wellness. My role is to help you explore and better understand the factors contributing to your stress and help you manage it effectively, so you can live the life you want. Chronic stress wears on our body and overtime can have serious consequences on our mental and physical health.
I have diverse experience working with adults and teens on a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, grief, domestic violence, family & relationship issues, and chronic & life threatening health conditions. I can also assist with stress management and navigating life changes. I have practiced in various fields including health care, domestic violence and front line counselling.

I strive to help others make meaningful and lasting change wherever they are, while providing insight and support. Therapy can help you move forward, improve healing, and help you find greater peace of mind. In our sessions together, we will work collaboratively to build short and long-term solutions while exploring the root of your issues.
As a social worker, I have a unique understanding of the relationship between individuals and their environment and how stress can impact physical and mental health. After our sessions together, you can expect to have an improved understanding and perspective in which to view your challenges and improved coping strategies.

I believe you are the expert in your own life and respect your right to self determination and readiness for change. I practice from a client centered, strengths-based approach utilizing various counselling frameworks including cognitive behavioural therapy, interpersonal therapy, solution focused therapy and motivational interviewing. My practice approach is evidence based and culturally sensitive. It is my goal that every person feels comfortable and at ease therefore sessions are customized to meet your unique needs.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from St. Francis Xavier University, a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from St. Thomas University and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Waterloo. I am a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers since 2011.
Please contact for a free no obligation 15 minute phone consultation if you have any questions about how therapy can work for you and how we can work together. All voicemail messages & e-mails are confidential.
