MaryAnn focuses on working with Individuals, Couples, and Family issues while serving Adults, Older Adolescents, and Senior Citizens. 
 

She specializes in depression, anxiety, trauma, panic attacks, acute and chronic PTSD, domestic abuse and domestic violence issues, suicide prevention focusing on wellness and self care training, grief and loss issues, substance abuse issues - alcohol and other drugs, Substance Abuse Evaluations and legal matters surrounding SAE such as probation, suspended drivers license, and AA/NA 12 step work. Additional specialties: job, social, and/ or relationship issues in self-esteem, interpersonal skills, communication skills, stress management, assertiveness training, co-dependency, anger management and ACOA - Adult Child of Alcoholic/Addict/Abuse and ACEs Adverse Childhood Experiences effects of associated high risk behaviors on health, life style, family, work, and social life.

She utilizes an eclectic array of therapy and counseling techniques such as CBT - Cognitive Behavior Therapy, EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, TIR - Traumatic Incident Reduction, LSR Life Stress Reduction, EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping), Hypnotherapy, Temperament Profile, and Family of Origin Therapy.

MaryAnn is a 2003 graduate of Webster University,  Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Addictions Professional, Clinical Hypnotherapist, EMDR trained, State of Florida Qualified Supervisor for RMHI -Registered Mental Health Intern , Master’s level Practicum Supervisor, Certified TIR (Traumatic Incident Reduction) Facilitator, Certified TIR Life Stress Reduction Facilitator, and a TIR Trainer in Training. She started Wise Counsel, her private practice in 1997.   Since 2004, she is an advocate with Help Now of Osceola County Domestic Violence Outreach and Shelter, Sexual Assault Response Team,  and continual member and past chairperson of the Osceola County Domestic Violence Task Force. Currently she sits on the Osceola County Fatality Review Team and Office on Violence Against Women an Abuse in Later Life Program..   She has worked in 3 drug residential programs, conducted drug and alcohol prevention classes inside the Osceola County Jail for 6 years, lecturer, speaker, and counselor on substance abuse, trauma, PTSD, domestic violence, stress management, family of origin, temperament profile, life skills, and communication skills.  Her ongoing goal is to continue to learn, grow, and experience educational professional growth so as to bring health and hope of counseling for co-occurring mental health, addiction, trauma, PTSD and other needs to persons who seek counseling.
