Melisha holds a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology. She is a certified Counsellor (CCC) through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, a Registered Provisional Psychologist through the College of Alberta Psychologists, and a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).

Melisha offers Counselling and Psychological Services for Individuals--adults & adolescents; Couples, and Families. Melisha also offers Group Counselling Services for grief and loss, identity, trauma, and couples exploration. Part of the Services she provides clients is Mindful Movement-- a Trauma Sensitive Yoga approach for individuals who are seeking a gentle yoga and meditation practice to increase mindfulness and active relaxation as a self care psychological intervention. She also provides community support with her business partner at Keys to Hope Counselling Services through their "Therapy Cafe" which provides community members opportunity to participate in Mindful Movement, Sound Bath, Laughter Yoga, and a Drumming Circle.  Therapy Cafe is provided free to the community on the second Wednesday of every month. It is her belief that wellness services should be available to everyone despite socio economic barriers.

Throughout her journey as a single mother, Melisha has overcome adversity and embraced hope and healing. She seeks to share this hope and healing within her community through creative and hope-focused approaches while supporting clients to tap into the reservoir of their own resilience.  Melisha strives to assist individuals--through their own journey--to discover their passions, to challenge cognitive distortions, to explore creative outlets, to tap into their resiliency, and to find new ways to increase health and wellness.  This includes exploring and developing a strong support team, accessing inner and external resources, identifying and setting healthy boundaries, and learning healthy communication skills.

Melisha's specialties range from grief and loss, animal Assisted Therapy, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, women's issues, relationship issues, conflict resolution, anxiety & depression, inner child work, trauma, and self-development. Melisha's animal therapy assistant is her horse named Sue. Sue is a 15 year old rescue horse who was gifted to her in the fall of 2015. Sue's resilience struck a chord within Melisha who believes that Sue was meant to assist the healing journey of others. Clients who meet Sue and utilize Animal Assisted Therapy find that this therapeutic approach assists with increased confidence, emtotional regulation, and anxiety management.
