Melissa tailors her approach to each of her individual clients in order to provide them the best opportunities to heal and grow. She focuses on creating a safe, empathetic space for all of her clients to slow down and recollect their inner thoughts without the pressure and stress of life’s quick pace. Melissa has over a decade of experience helping individuals struggling with their life’s challenges and she is passionate about guiding her clients through their darkest times and helping them find the beginning of their new, happier, healthier lives.
Melissa works with a wide variety of clients who are struggling with many different challenges that life has thrown at them. She offers counseling for adolescents, adults, seniors, couples, and families that may be struggling with the following:
Adolescents and Teens: Melissa has helped many teenagers navigate the difficulties of anxiety, depression, anger management, self-injury, drug and/or alcohol use, trauma, social and/or relationship issues, or the loss of a parent or a loved one. She has also helped those struggling with gender identity, eating disorders, and divorce.
Relationships & Couples: Is your relationship not what you want it to be? Melissa has aided countless clients navigate their relationship struggles including affair recovery for both physical and emotional infidelity, improving communication, sexual and intimacy issues, conflict resolution, codependency, blended families, and recovering from a divorce.
Individuals: Melissa provides guidance for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, addictions of all kinds, life transitions, abuse, trauma, grief and loss, panic attacks, self-worth and body image issues, panic attacks, stress, anger management, and catastrophic thinking. She also provides growth-oriented counseling for individuals looking for career advice, life coaching, burnout and lack of motivation, and relocation.
Melissa received her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. She is a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) and has also received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, mindfulness therapy, existential psychology, person-centered therapy, and gestalt therapy.
