I offer a compassionate, respectful and private environment
for my clients to discuss their concerns and difficulties. I bring
sensitivity to cultural differences and openness to sexual diversity. I
am comfortable speaking about issues that leave people struggling within
their relationships or their sexual functioning. I believe in the
importance of providing an opportunity for clients to be heard and
treated in a professional manner.
I
completed my Master of Social Work degree in 1995. I then pursued my
Registered Marriage and Family Therapist designation, becoming a
Clinical Member and Supervisor-in-training with both the Canadian and
American Associations of Marriage and Family Therapy. I worked for 15
rewarding years with children, parents and families in both out-patient
and residential services at the Children's Centre of Thunder Bay before
leaving in 2007 to pursue private practice.
I have provided training extensively throughout the North and
teach as a Sessional Lecturer in the Social Work Department at Lakehead
University. Further, I am a longstanding provider of Critical/Traumatic
Incident Stress Management (CISM) services throughout Northern Ontario
and Manitoba and I had the privilege to be a part of a Canadian team
which provided CISM services in New York City immediately following
September 11, 2001.
